Forum seems pretty sleepy but I thought I'd let folks know I made my crossing from Badwater to top of Mt. Whitney in September.  Did not use the baby jogger to try the unsupported concept - too much traffic!  I was slow and supported by my wife Patty.  Took me 9 days, 3 hours and 40 minutes but I did manage to go up the west side of Whitney which I think is a first for someone leaving from Badwater on foot.  Adds about 30 miles and 2,500 feet of elevation gain.

All in all it was a wonderful adventure!  The nights in Death Valley were spectacular as was the backside of Whitney (you get more nights when you go slow).  Raised over $6,000 for some accessible vans our nonprofit needs and got to meet Badwater Ben.

Thanks again to Marcia for all of her encouragement and to Scott Weber and Martin Ulrich for answering my many questions.  It was a treat to have breakfast with the legendary Badwater Ben!

Happy Holidays to everyone and may your dreams come true in 2009 and beyond!

Might go for a buckle next year!

Congratulations Mike on your crossing!  By the way, forgive me if there is a Martin Ulrich I'm not aware of, but I believe the man to whom you are referring is named Marshall.

Happy trails,

Connie :)
