I'm guessing maybe July 10th, but that's only a guess. I'm thinking they'll avoid doing it on the 4th of July holiday, so it would make sense to do it the next week. Only speculation, though.

The next edition of the world's toughest foot race will take place July 24-26, 2006. The application period, for those seeking an invitation to compete, will take place January 3-24, 2006. Now that the dates for the "official" Badwater are out, any idea as to when the "unofficial" crossing will take place? Just in case I don't get in.

Several people have talked about starting July 1st. I haven't heard any other dates mentioned.
