I think I have found my new hill training area. Palm Springs tram road. I think it will be a good place to train for the long hills on the Badwater Solo. It is not very long but I can do four miles up then turn around and do four mile down. Sounds like fun in a warped kind of way. Greg

That sounds absolutely...KILLER!
Uh, that means it's GOOD, right? Sounds like it could be scenic, too.
So what're you up to, Greg? Training for 2008 already? Wow, you've got it BAD!

The Palm Springs tram road starts at 500 ft elevation and climbs to about 2,600 ft. in just under 4 miles. Last week when I started at 3:30 p.m. it was 120 degrees. I reached the top, then turned around. I started with too little fluid, but just about that time you know it my wife meet me with a bottle. After I got to the bottom I felt a little sickly, a little food and drink and I was fine. I took about a month off after the Badwater Solo.  I plan to work back up the mileage this month. If I feel strong enough by September 30 I want to go back to Fountain Hills for the Javelina 100. I plan to run the Long Beach Marathon two weeks before Javelina 100. Hopefully we will she you both there. Greg

Hi Greg,
I've ran a few races since Badwater:including
Disappiontments 50, BullDog.50K and we hiked Mt. Baldy Summit and slept over night.
The night was beautiful.

We got to see John and Marci at the BullDog race. Cool.

Marc and I have mixed up our training by doing some fun triathlons.
We are running the Long Beach Half Marathon.
Maybe we'll see you on the course.
Marc plans to pace a friend at Javelina 100.

Stay healthy and fit.

Peace and Love
Tanya and Dr,Marc

I understand what you mean about hills being fun in a twisted sort of way! I also really enjoy hills. I've recently been running wooded trails that have a lot of hills. My dog loves them too! My only problem with hills is that my ankle support is a little weak when running uphill. I think I've strengthened my legs enough though to be okay with it. Good for you for running hills though!

Tanya we went to the Bulldog 50K, we showed up about thirty minutes before the first finisher. We stayed and helped direct the runners coming in until noon. We were hoping to "run into" somebody we knew. I have plans to run the Long Beach Marathon as well, hope to see you two there. As of right now I will be running Javelina. Greg

Hi Greg,
How's your Bad water solo t-shirt project coming along?

We'll look out for you at long Beach Marathon start.

I just signed up to run the Javelina Jundred.
Marc, while enjoying the event may pace me a lap or two.
We hope to see you at JJ start too. smile.

I got in a good training run this weekend doing Mt. Baldy summit twice. Whewww!! A tuff one.

Greg,
Stay strong.
We love your spirit and dedication to fitness and life.
Stay fit forever.
