Because the race dates this year apparently conflict with the number of Europeans visiting DV, rooms are hard to come by on Sunday eve. the 23rd of July (night before the 'official' race)

I was wondering if anyone has information on a crew that has an extra room(s) or if somebody wasn't entering the race and would not be using their room(s). The alternative I have at this moment is Beatty, NV; about 40 mile drive to Furnace Creek (well over an hour from BW)

Thanks in advance for any information

Cheers,
Robert

I stayed in Beatty last year and will again this year. It's not a bad drive. Or let's put it this way, it's the easiest thing you'll do for the next 48 hours.

Do you like Beatty better then Stove pipe wells.

I wouldnt' say I like it better, I understand all the rooms in Stovepipe are taken. So it's not an option. It is closer to the start, and if you have a room in Stovepipe and want to keep it through the first night of the race, your crew has the option to use it if need be, or even the racer can take a brake in the A/C of the room if they want. Many use the pool at Stovepipe on the way through.

SPW's is full Sat/Sun/Mon night. I'm planning on staying at the Amargosa Opera House hotel in DV Junction (about 30mi from FC) on Sat/Sun. I've not stayed there before. Looks like it might be very interesting....

I've got a room in Panamint Springs Monday PM for my crew.
