Hi Scott,

I want to be a pacer in the 2007 Badwater to improve my chances of getting into the 2008 Badwater.

I live in San Antonio, TX.  I'm relatively new to ultrarunning.  I completed my first 100 miler in November of 2006 at the Mother Road 100 in Oklahoma in just under 24 hours.  I've Run a couple of 100 and 50 K's, including the Kettle Moraine 100K and the Big Bend 50K.

I'll be bringing my Chrysler Town and Country minivan.

Sincerely,

Doug Ratliff

Hi Scott,

I just posted in the Want a Runner area.  I'm looking to get a better understanding of what it takes to do Badwater.  I'm hoping to do the race in 2009 and want to do what I can now to get a foundation built.  I've been to Death Valley recently and loved every inch of the park.  I definately have a sense of humor.  I'll send you some of my race reports as evidence if you are interested.  I have a short career in endurance sports. I didn't become a runner until my early 30's and in the last 6 years have done 4 marathons, 2 Ironmans, many shorter runs and triathlons.  I've come to ultrarunning just last year when I decided Ironman wasn't tough enough for me.  I did the Chuckanut 50k for my first ultra a year ago and thought I would die.  Then I did a 50 mile and I KNEW I would die.  So, I decided to do it again this year.  Instead of Chuckanut I did the Death Valley marathon in Feb and I've signed up for that same 50 miler again in April.

You can contact me directly at jhuffman_swift @ hotmail.com for more info.

Hey Scott,
I am a Badwater wantta be and I would love to crew this race so that I too can get an understanding of the race.  My personal goad is to run the race in 2008.  I've read anything I can get my hands on about it and would love to come out and experience it.  I know with your vast experience I could learn a great deal.  I've been running ultras for about five years.  I am hard working and dedicated.
Thank you for reading this.  Let me know if you need any more info.

Thank you,
Mona - Ultracajun
