Just curious how many others out there are running for charitable causes and what for. I figure there are at least a few other philanthropic foks.  As for me, I'm running to support the education and basic needs of orphans in Africa through World Harvest Mission (http://www.worldharvestmission.org).  I run a website with all profits to charity at http://www.seegundyrun.com.  Check it out......As for me, I think looking outside of oneself helps put the races we run in total perspective.

Hi Jonathan:

I checked out your charity website and made a small contribution - wish I could afford more.  I know you ran for charity at BW last year, too.  Your charity this year is a wake up call to us in this country and elsewhere for those of us who don't even realize what is going on over there on that continent and in other places facing similar, horrible challenges...

My BW effort will be on behalf of the American Diabetes Association, a cause near and dear to my heart.  Tom Jennings is graciously hosting my information at:  http://www.run100forcharity.info and my active.com fundraising page is here:

Outside of the box...for others...yes.  It's not all about us and what we can accomplish.  The finish line isn't when I break the tape.

Happy Trails and blessings,

Thank you very much....I appreciate it.  I am returning the favor right now  :).  I think there are things in this world we know very little about, or in many cases, choose not to know very little about.  Thanks again and I look forward to reading about your adventures as well.  I'm just curious to see what else is out there and what inspires people to run.  Everyone's got a story.....

One of the main reasons I run is to support the cure for breast cancer.  I have had several people close to me diagnosed with it.  I always wear my Race for a Cure Shirt at any race that I compete in.  I also love seeing all the people that come out and support Charity Racing events from the volunteers to the people lining up the street to cheer you on makes it all that more special.
